Sometimes, I wish I was still a kid. You know, back in the day when you didn’t have to worry about anything except whether or not Bobby wanted to “go with you” or whether you should roll your socks or scrunch them?
But, I’m a full-fledged adult now, and I’m learning to revel in the beauty that is maturity. Thus, I bring you my 6 best things about being an adult:
1. I don’t get in trouble with my parents anymore. They can’t ground me. They can sneer at me or shake their finger in my face, but they have no power over me. Booyah!
2. I can go through the Taco Bell drive-thru any time I please. And the moments of scraping coins out of my ash tray praying that I have enough for a bean burrito are few(er) and far(ther) between.
3. I can have boys in my room — with the door shut. Okay, I really only have one boy in my room with the door shut. My husband. Two if you count when the Animal is bouncing on dad’s chest in the mornings to wake him up. Three if you count Dug, the lab-mutt-mix who sneaks in when I’m not looking. You get the point.
4. I’m done with school, and I have my job. Phew. Actually, I’m probably not really done with school. I seem to enjoy torturing myself. Stay tuned.
5. I can stay up as late as I want, be as loud as I want, and wake up whenever I want. Yeah right. This will be true one day. Right now, I have kids who dictate my waking time, and I kind of have to get quieter earlier at night so that I don’t wake them up. But, I’m totally in charge. Totally.
6. Chores are up to me, and I give myself my allowance. And it’s way better than $3 a week. It’s, like, $5 a week. Score!
What are some of the things you love about being an adult? Leave me a comment!

Oh! Boys in your room! That’s a great one.
We always had to stay in the living room when my boyfriend was over. My girlfriend’s parents had one more rule on top of that one–everyone’s feet had to be on the floor!
Feet on the floor. That’s a SMART one! Will have to remember when Miss Sassy Pants starts having visitors!
I love your list, and yay for having boys in our rooms with the door shut! I love that I don’t have to ask if I want to go out at night and I don’t get in trouble for leaving empty toilet rolls in the bathroom. At least they are in a bin! But my mum likes them going straight to the outside bin. Great post, enjoy your weekend x
Hello! Following you from Hop Til Ya Drop! Looking forward to reading more! Would appreciate the follow back!

Hi! I like this post. Very entertaining. It’s an unusual topic, I think. I normally see “Best Things Abt Being a Kid”. It’s refreshing to see a post that will celebrate where we are now. It has its ups and downs but at least we got through a lot already.
I found you in the bloghop and followed you via GFC. I hope you’ll drop by my blog. Find something you’ll like and let’s interact!

Amen! We got through it, and we’re getting better with age. Thanks for stopping by. On my way to your site!
I must say,I do enjoy having boys in my room with the door shut!
My chore allowance seems to vary now. It depends on what amount Faux-Hubby feels like sticking in my bra that day.
Oh man, you’ve caught my attention now. On my way to check out your blog!
Thanks for stopping by!
Isn’t “freedom” wonderful!!! Love this! Thanks for linking up at the TGIF Blog Hop! Glad to meet ya and look forward to reading more
Oh yes. Freedom is great. Like when I got to drive my car after getting my driver’s license at 16. Went to McDonald’s first thing. Of course, I ran into the sign and had to hide that from my parents, but I was FREE!
