DIY Non-Toxic Air Freshener

DIY Non-Toxic Air Freshener

I am a Simply Aroma consultant. Some links within this post are my business links.

When you have two kids still wearing diapers or pull-ups of some sort, you deal with some stinky air. And that air needs to be freshened every now and again — so does the trash can.

I have found that making my own air freshener is ridiculously easy and took less than 5 minutes — even with the kids pulling at my pant legs!

My favorite new blend is from Simply Aroma. It’s called http://columbuscameragroup.com/blog/page/2/ Restore, a Cleansing Blend. Restore includes lemon, pine needle, tea tree, citronella, lime, wild orange, and myrtle.

To make my non-toxic air freshener, I used witch hazel, distilled water, and Restore — that’s it! Super easy, safe for my family, and pretty darn cheap!

I used a 5 oz fine mist bottle. I went ahead and used plastic from a dollar store since no one would be ingesting the concoction, and I wasn’t worried about leeching of the plastic.

I filled half of the bottle (just eyed it – wasn’t too worried with perfect) with witch hazel. Witch hazel is easily found at most stores in the medicine aisle. I think this bottle cost me maybe $2? Probably less.

Then, I filled the other half of the bottle with distilled water. You can find distilled water in the grocery store on the bottled water aisle. Sometimes, you can find it for less than $1.

Lastly, I used about 15 drops of Restore. You can use more if you feel like the scent isn’t strong enough. I will decide if I need more as I use it more around the house.

Each time you use the spray, be sure to shake first. Use it to eliminate odors in the diaper pail, trash can, or just the room. I have used it after the dogs have come inside and are just plain dog-stinky.

What else is great about Restore? For every bottle purchased, Simply Aroma will give $2 to the RestoreOne Foundation. hellish Learn more about Restore One by watching this awesome video.

You can also purchase your own Restore blend through my link. It retails for $17.
