Listening to Mom

Listening to Mom

We’re all guilty of it. We ignore our parents and tell them they don’t know what they’re talking about. Then, we grow up, have our own kids, and we hear our  mother’s (or father’s) words coming out of our own mouths. And we realize that listening to mom isn’t the most awful thing we could have done.

Not too long ago, cytotec 200mcg I shared some of the wisdom that my mother taught me. Things like looking good no matter where you go or using your parents as an excuse to save face if you’re dealing with peer pressure. I also shared that my mother has always pushed the importance of drinking water.

Growing up, I wanted to drink soda all the time. It tasted so good, and my friends and their families were always drinking it. Mom sometimes gave in and bought us the store brand of the colas and lemon-lime sodas. But drinking water was always a priority. And to see my mom with a soda in her hand? I honestly can’t picture one time that would have been the case.

That didn’t stop me from gorging myself on soda. And the result? I had tons of acne. Tons. Finally, at the end of my high school career, I decided to drop soda and drink only water. Lo and behold, my face cleared right up. Guess I should have listened to mom, huh?

And now that I’m a mom, I find myself demanding that my children avoid soda and other sweet drinks. I firmly believe that water is the best option for my family to keep us healthy and hydrated.

That’s one reason that I’m participating in the Nestlé® Pure Life® Hydration Movement.
