Mamavation Monday – 34 weeks and healthy lunches

It’s Monday which means two things: We made it one more week with #babyflash (and we’re at 34 weeks now) and today is Laksar Mamavation Monday.

Let me just stop for a second and give some shout outs to my Burnley Mamavation friends. Jeanae, Joanna, and Rebecca tore up the Mamavation Campaign #15. Together, the three of them lost over 110 pounds. That is astronomical. And, on top of the weight loss, they are hilarious, beautiful, kind women who have been an inspiration in so many ways.

On average, Mamavation Moms lose 20 pounds during a campaign. If you’re interested in applying, be sure to check out How to Apply.

Now for my weekly update:

  • Today, we go to the doctor for our next check-up. We’ll see if I’ve gained much more weight (last time, I’d gained 4 lbs in 2 weeks). I was also told to drink more water, and I’ve worked really hard to do just that.
  • We also have an ultrasound for #babyflash since he’s technically considered high-risk with the single umbilical artery. So far, everything has been beautiful on his ultrasounds, so we’re mostly just excited to get to see him!
  • I took a walk or spent time outside more this week than I have in a long time. I’m managing my back pain by sitting with an upside down plastic bucket under my desk. This has helped (I think) immensely. Sadly, I can only sleep in one position at night or I get all twisted. But, only 6 more weeks left!

Tonight, we have Mamavation TV, and I’m really excited about the topic. Rachel Lacy will be talking to us about healthy lunches for our families. Aaron and Miss Sassy Pants pack a lunch every day, and most of the time, they’re pretty healthy. Aaron is really great about packing himself yogurts and fruits along with the leftovers from the night before. I’ve had to work with Miss Sassy Pants to get her “trained.” Now, she takes a sandwich, fruit, yogurt, and maybe some pretzels. Every now and again, I’ll be “fun” and let her take something extra (like a cookie or some pudding).

What do you pack for lunches? Do your kids argue with you when you pack something healthy?

Join us tonight so that you, too, can learn more about packing healthy lunches!
