Mamavation Monday #6

I’m proud of myself. I have made some significant changes this week. Mostly, I have made some mentality changes.

I finally said to myself: We WILL do this. My friend, @Momma_Oz, wrote this awesome post about Choices. And she’s right. This entire process is about the choices I make for myself. I’m not allowed to complain or blame anyone else anymore.

So, what have I done differently? Not a ton of drastic things, but I have done some things:

My lunches have involved 100% whole wheat bread, meat, and a fruit of some sort. And water.

I have allowed myself to enjoy a treat at the end of the day, but my portion size hasn’t rivaled my husband’s.

I’m still walking daily.

I’m pretty proud of myself. I think the most exciting moment was when we went out to eat after Miss Sassy Pants’s recital. Normally, I would have ordered something HORRIBLE for myself. Instead, I ordered a chicken tender salad and water. Sure, the fried tenders weren’t the BEST choice, but they’re much better than the burger and fries and soda I would normally have requested.

Also, Leah (@bookieboo) made some really awesome suggestions (well, she always makes really awesome suggestions, but this time I listened). One of those was to make SMALL goals for myself. This week’s goal is to work toward losing 5 pounds. I don’t expect to lose them all this week, but I hope to begin!
