Mamavation Monday: #64ozchallenge

Mamavation Monday: #64ozchallenge

Happy Monday, Geniuses! We’ve made it another week. If you’re just recently joining me, thank you for making the trip over.

Today is Mamavation Monday. For those of you unfamiliar with Mamavation, you should definitely check it out! Mamavation is a healthy lifestyle and obesity prevention group. I’m part of a Sistahood and everything. Through Mamavation, I have not only gained awesome friends, but I’ve also learned how to live healthier and cleaner, how to feed my family with better foods, how to avoid those things that make us not-so-healthy, and how to stay accountable.

Speaking of staying accountable, today starts the #64ozchallenge with Pepper Scraps! The goal is to drink at least 64 oz of water each day. We’ll be tweeting and encouraging one another every day, so be sure to follow @unicornbeauty for her check-ins. And if you haven’t already, follow me @lydsrich so we can be connected, too!

I’m using the #64ozchallenge not only as a way to stay connected to many of my friends but to also start a new habit. Admittedly, I’m awful about remembering to drink enough water. Since giving up soda, my drink choices have become limited. Water has become my new best friend, and I’m less grossed out by its “plain” taste. In fact, I have found myself craving it from time to time.

Of course, craving it probably meant that I was just thirsty. Duh.

Also, as I’ve started week 27 of my pregnancy with #babyflash, I know I have to stay hydrated. I don’t want to get too swollen, and I know water helps keep this down (a bit, since we know that swelling with pregnancy is kind of inevitable). I also want to do my best to avoid the Charlie Horses that plagued me when I was pregnant with the Animal. I’m already almost 2 weeks past the time they started with him.

What are your goals this week? And will you join me in the #64ozchallenge? It doesn’t cost anything but the time to drink that water and tweet a couple of times!

Have a happy and wonderful week, Geniuses!
