Mamavation Monday: After Bootcamp

Mamavation Monday: After Bootcamp

It’s my first official Monday post-Bootcamp. For the past 7 weeks, I was part of a health and detox bootcamp with http://gowstakeout.com/tag/lets-be-frank/ Mamavation. During this time, I learned how to eat better, live healthier, and detox my house. As an added bonus, I lost 19 lbs! (This weight loss shot me down to my weight from before I became pregnant with my second — woot!)

This past week has not been easy, actually. With the end of the bootcamp came an end to public accountability. I was on my own. My friend, Joanna, had warned me that it would not be easy once the seven weeks were finished. I sort of laughed her off and thought that I had this under control. Should have listened a little closer to her.

It all started at a church picnic where I had sweet tea and cake. Oh, glorious cake. The only cake I’d had in two months was a small piece at my BFF’s son’s first birthday. Otherwise, I hadn’t tasted anything this sweet in quite some time. It was like opening a very big can of deliciously sweet worms (metaphorically speaking, of course). When I got home, I couldn’t stop eating the cake. I felt like an addict.

And wouldn’t you know it? I was sick that night. I was even sick to my stomach the next day.

Lesson learned.

Since this problematic experience, I’ve taken myself back to the diet that was created for me with the Mamavation Bootcamp (and by diet, I mean eating plan — Mamavation does not recommend “diets”).

I’ve started the Cuxhaven Rock Hard Abs 30 day challenge, and I’ll begin running again this coming Friday (my foot was injured, so I’m making sure it’s 100%).

Good news!!

I lost another pound! Even with the small set-backs that I created for myself, what I learned during the bootcamp really helped me get back on track and continue with my loss (if you were paying attention, that means 20 lbs now!).

What do you do when you fall off the wagon? How do you pick yourself up again?
