Turmero Mamavation Monday: And now I'm anemic

Happy Monday, my Geniuses! Welcome to those of you who are reading for the first time, and welcome back to those of you who have been with me for a while.

It’s another Mamavation Monday, and this week, #babyflash has made it to 29 weeks. Wow! Only 11 to go. I had my monthly check-up this past Monday, and they took blood to check glucose levels (I got to drink that yummy orange non-soda sugar drink).

On Tuesday, caller ID told me that my doctor’s office was calling, and I just knew they were going to tell me that the glucose test came back with irregular results and I’d have to go in for the three hour test. Nope. Instead, the nurse informed me that my blood results showed low iron, and I’m anemic.

My exact response was, “So this would explain my exhaustion?”

For the past few weeks, I just really thought baby #3 was getting to me. When I was pregnant with the Animal, I had a 6 year old who could basically fend for herself in many respects. This pregnant-while-chasing-a-toddler thing is hard! So, I just assumed I was tired because the Animal keeps me on my toes.

While I know most moms and pregnant moms find themselves to be tired regularly, it was nice to know that the feelings of not wanting to do ANYTHING had an actual explanation.

So, I’m on 325 mg of EXTRA iron on top of my prenatals, and I would say that I’ve been feeling much better but…. I have developed a cold. Nice.

On another note, Aaron and I are planning our shift over to cleaner, healthier eating. We’ve been pretty conscientious lately, but we’re dead serious now. I hope to have a great update for you next Monday.

How has your week been? Anything exciting? Tell me!
