A few months ago, one of my readers on my Facebook fanpage told me about her soon-to-be-born baby. She was trying to stay pregnant as she knew he would most likely be born early. Because we were pregnant at the same time, we were swapping stories about our aches and pains. Miss Diva was born, and my reader was still holding strong. But then, about a month after Miss Diva was born, Tidus entered the world at 29 weeks.

As I write this, Tidus is still fighting in the NICU. For a while there, things were looking “up” for him. He was able to be off the ventilator and then was able to be fed by bottle every other feeding.

But in mid-July, he took a turn for the worst.

The doctors discovered that he had an infection in his bowels. They had to give him a blood transfusion. They put him back on the IV tube for nutrition, and he was medevac’d to a bigger and more specialized hospital.

Tidus’s mom and dad now have a much longer drive to come see him. And since they have older children, they can’t just be gone 24/7 and stay with Tidus. When they are able to be with him, they have to deal with the cost of gas or the cost of food or the cost of lodging.

That’s why I decided to have a Facebook party and dedicate all of my commissions from it to Tidus and his family. Then, my friend Rachel (a Thirty-One consultant) joined me, and she is so graciously doing the same. So now, we have Oils & Totes for Tidus.

If you’d like to help Tidus, please check out our party. It’s open to the public, so we encourage you to invite your friends, family, and neighbors. The more we can do to help this family, the less stress they will endure while they are trying to keep the energy and chins up for their little man.
