Ordinary (Or not quite so)

Ordinary (Or not quite so)

Today’s Five Minute Friday word is ORDINARY

1. Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking.
2. http://justrpg.com/reviews/genji-ii Link back here and invite others to join in.
3. And then absolutely, no ifs, ands or buts about it, you need to visit the person who linked up before you & encourage them in their comments. Seriously. That is, like, the rule. And the fun. And the heart of this community.

Go:

Ordinary. I don’t know if I can ever say that anything in my life is really “ordinary.” I’ve known what today’s word is for a few hours, and I’ve been trying to decide what I would write about.

All I can think about is how extraordinary my life is.

I am married to the most wonderfullest (I know it’s not a word) man that I could have ever asked for. Somehow, I was blessed enough to find him, and I was lucky enough for him to ask me to marry him.

And while I guess you could say that our life is ordinary — three kids, some dogs, a cat, jobs, a messy kitchen, bills to pay — it’s so much more than that.

Our relationship grows stronger and better as each day goes by.

We are learning how to be a unified couple rather than two people who chose to say, “I do.”

We are learning how to negotiate all the little things that make life not-so-easy and relatively stressful.

For me, this is extraordinary.

In one of my weakest moments, I admitted to him that I just didn’t think I could keep on with the way life has been going. It’s too much. I have too many things on my plate. I need help.

He listened.

Having been around people in the past who didn’t worry about my feelings any more or even as much as their own, this is a breath of fresh air. He put his needs aside, and he has been going out of his way to make sure that my feelings of frustration were put to rest.

Are things perfect in this house? Heck no.

But they are pretty extraordinary.

STOP.
