When I received my new laptop, I was surprised that I didn’t have a CD or DVD drive built in. I know, I could have paid a little more attention to the specs, but I just sort of assumed that one would be part of the mechanics of the computer.

So using a CD or burning one has not been an option — until now.

The USB 2.0 External Drive DVD VCD CD RW Drive Burner from Uhsupply is easily used. It simply plugs right in to the computer and allows me to access the CD I need. It will also allow me to burn DVDs — something I haven’t been able to do. I have tons of video of my family and kids. Now, I can make something we can enjoy outside of my computer!

One small glitch that may be because I have a Mac: I have to restart in order for my computer to realize that a drive has been attached.

I did have to make sure that external drive was on a flat surface. When I didn’t do that at first, the CD kept skipping.

I’m super pumped to have this option now for my computer.

How could you use a USB 2.0 External Drive DVD VCD CD RW Drive Burner?

I received this product in exchange for my honest review.

  1. It’s great that you found an option that simply plugs in. I don’t like the glitch of having to restart, I wonder if there’s a way around that.
I use my CD drive for Print Shop projects, but rarely use it for anything else. I need to start thinking about making family video DVDs.
