And then he started drawing

My 2.5 year old can draw. And write. And I’m sort of freaking out.

The other day, I was working on the computer, and Aaron was cleaning the house. That left the Animal with the iPad. Suddenly, I hear Aaron exclaim, “Are you writing your numbers?!?!”

The Animal was so proud of himself. When his daddy told him to go show Mommy, he was happy to oblige.

See the numbers? Some are a little backwards or squiggly, but they are definitely the numbers!

Then, he showed up with another drawing of himself. A self-portrait. See the eyes and the smile?

Since these pictures, he has started adding hair, legs, arms, hands and shoes (apparently, the feet are understood). He’s growing up so quickly, and I am trying to capture it all.

What have your little ones done that made you want to scream, “Slow down!”

  1. Frances’ first “people” drawings were on the side of the bathtub with tub crayons. I was so proud, but also sad because I wouldn’t be able to keep them. I’m glad I thought to take pictures to capture the memory!
