Getting the juices flowing to write a blog post — to write anything — can be exceptionally difficult. When you have a chance to collaborate with someone or even just be in the same room with other writers, the excitement can get that blogging juice moving.

Having spent many years working with students and leading writing workshops to help get the ideas on paper, I know the power of free writes, brainstorms, conversations, and collaboration.

I recently worked with a friend I had met through a Facebook group. We didn’t know each other at all prior to our online meeting. But in the 45 minutes we spent together, I was able to brainstorm 51 post ideas and write a post almost completely ready to go on the blog.

Fifty-one topics. One almost completed post.

All in 45 minutes of easy collaboration and discussion.

Angela made me think: I should totally offer a live, online writing workshop for folks looking to brainstorm and collaborate.
