Mamavation Monday: Dude, Where's my Sleep?

Mamavation Monday: Dude, Where's my Sleep?

Happy Monday, and happy Mamavation Monday to everyone! This week, our Mamavation Moms will finish their boot camp and we’ll celebrate them Monday night in our http://theglutengal.com/healthy-gluten-free-brownies/ Google hangout and Slumber Party. If you’ve ever wondered what a http://thehistoryhacker.com/2012/09/03/operation-benji-the-conclusion/ Mamavation TV experience is like, I highly suggest attending this one — it’s going to be super fun!

This week has been so busy. I knew that having more than two children would make my life move quickly, but it’s already JUNE! I’m shocked how quickly time is really flying by.

Flash is going to be 6 weeks old this week. He’s doing much better with sleeping, but he has reached that very frustrating peak of fussiness in the evenings. This makes me feel exhausted. He also resists being put down at night for sleep, so I often find myself with him still in my arms after I’ve been asleep for a couple of hours (because he fell asleep while nursing). I’m trying to be more conscious about laying him down so that we all get better sleep; but at 2 am when I’m exhausted from a full day of no-time-to-myself, it’s just hard.

Miss Sassy Pants got her cast off on Friday. Talk about a huge relief in so many ways. She was excited enough about it that she wrote about it on her weekly post to my blog. Be sure to check it out and give her some comment love!

And, the Animal had his 2 year check up. He freaked Dr. F out when he was able to correctly answer my question, “How many sides does an octagon have?” I don’t think her jaw could have hit the floor any faster.

So, on to victories for the week:

Non-Scale Victories

  • I caught up with the laundry for about 2 minutes.
  • The Animal didn’t flip out over his hemoglobin and lead tests at the doctor’s. In fact, he actually watched while the nurse squeezed his finger to get out the blood. (He did flip out later about the shot he had to get, however. But hey, one small victory is still a victory, right?)
  • I went on several walks this week…with Flash in the carrier. I’m really stinking proud of myself and of Flash for figuring out that the carriers aren’t too difficult to manage. It sure has made life easier!
  • I made a new friend in our town, and she has some really awesome kids with whom Miss Sassy Pants spent most of Saturday afternoon. This is great!

Scale Victories

Actually, nothing to report here except that I didn’t GAIN weight. I’m hitting that plateau that I knew I’d hit before I started working out. I’ll be heading in for my 6 week check up on Wednesday. Doctor will (hopefully) clear me for exercise, and I’ll get started!

This coming Saturday, Mamavation is participating in a Virtual 5k to support our Mamavation Moms who are finishing out their campaign. Join us!

What are you looking forward to this week?
