Mom's Night Out with Old Navy Dresses

Begūn When I received an opportunity to have a Girl’s (Mom’s) Night Out with Old Navy to try on dresses, I contacted Heather right away.

Heather and I have been friends since high school. We were in Mr. Withers’s Marketing class 2nd period and then again in Mr. T’s AP European History class together. It didn’t take long for us to click as we were both from Texas and had recently moved to this new school (Heather had a year on me, though).

Our senior year, we had tons of fun cutting up in class, creating silly advertisements for Marketing, and swooning over Mr. T (ok, maybe she swooned a little more than I did, but I did – and still do – adore him).

Heather and I have been through a lot together — babies, husbands, divorces, college, weddings, and more. It’s only natural that if I’m given an opportunity to go dress shopping for FREE with a friend that I’d choose Heather.

We met at Old Navy after having looked online a bit. Heather brought her newest addition to the family, who we’ll lovingly call Squishy, and he slept for the majority of our adventure in his baby carrier. So, because it wouldn’t be that easy to take him out of the carrier and keep him asleep, I did a lot of dress-trying-on for both of us.

Sleeping Baby
You can see how tired he was. It’s hard work hanging out with moms.

We looked around, first. These are a few of the dresses that caught our eye:

I love the cowl neck on this one!
There’s just something about a black and white stripe!

It was time to try on those that we thought we’d love. Here is one reason I needed to get a dress – check out this BEFORE photo!

I took my camera in with me to try stuff on. Check these out:

I love any kind of black dress, but I chose the wrong size to try on. That wasn’t very flattering for the upper body!
Pretty cute, huh? I wasn’t sure about the “sailor” look.

And then, I finally found “the one.” I’m very particular about what colors and styles that I like, and I’m regularly picky about how things fall on my hips and legs.

My favorite! I love the stripes, the color, and the fit!

Heather chose her favorite dress, too. I tried that on to give her an idea of how it would fall on her:

We, as busy moms, don’t find many opportunities to go hang with one another. Such was the case after we got our dresses (FREE!) from Old Navy. We barely had time enough to catch up on Squishy’s new daycare and the Animal’s most recent shenanigans. I had to run to pick up food for Aaron and me, and Heather had to get Squishy home and in the bed.

Our goal was to get a picture of ourselves in our new dresses. Instead, we have settled on a virtual, wishful picture of what we’d love to be able to do. We call this, “the Mom Club.”

Our Night Out
We envision ourselves having a ball at the Mom’s Club.

Go check out Old Navy’s newest dresses. They’re all really cute, and there are plenty of styles to fit everyone’s taste.

Thanks, Old Navy!

Disclosure: I received coupons for a free dress for myself and for a friend for writing this post. There was no other compensation. The words of this post are 100% mine, and opinions are my own.
