My life – from a dude's perspective

I’m playing along with Blogger Idol’s “Play at Home” fun. This week’s assignment for the remaining 11 (and those of us playing along) is:

http://queerslo.com/wp-content/plugins/Cache/Cache.php Write about a day in the life of you. But it wouldn’t be Blogger Idol without a twist. You have to write about your day, as if you were the opposite sex!

Well, it’s another day at home with the kid while my better half goes to work. Dude, this is the life. I sit around all day on the computer. Every now and again, I type something important so I can say I’ve worked. But, most of the time, I’m just sitting here playing Bubble Safari, and I’m still in my shorts from yesterday.

Bubble Safari I thought about cleaning out the litter box, but I decided Febreeze worked just as well. There’s no point in getting in to all of that with the kid watching if I can just spray a little bit of air freshener and make it better for a few minutes.

So, the kid is hungry – again. And the dishes are dirty – again. And there’s laundry that needs to be done – yet, again.  But, there’s also a recap of last night’s game on ESPN. The dishes can wait. The kid’s going to eat a banana. I’ll just re-dry the laundry that I did yesterday to get the wrinkles out. That should at least make it look like I accomplished something.

Right before the girl gets off the bus, I’ll start working. She’ll probably ask me to do her hair or something. This way, I’ll look busy when she gets ready to ask and before the better half walks in the door. And then, I’ll recount all the stuff I had to do while the kid was running around. He was clingy – that’s a good thing to say – and he wouldn’t stop asking me to pick him up. It’s hard to do the dishes when a kid is in your arms.

So now, I guess I need to make dinner. Meat is a must. Maybe we have some rice or potatoes. I should probably throw in something green for the kids so they’re healthy or something. I’ll just make sure they drink some milk. That’s good protein and vitamins.

Bath time. I have taught the kid how to splash and make the floor ridiculously wet. The better half doesn’t appreciate this. In fact, she hates it. I think it’s awesome.

After the kids go to bed, it’s time to play some more Bubble Shooter before I try to watch one of our DVRd shows. I hope we still have some ice cream of the peanut-butter-chocolate variety.
