Add a Little Mischief

When it comes to parties, do the unexpected. Choose an unusual theme or costume ideas. Create a murder mystery party where each guest has a particular character to dress like and act like, or give items to each party attendee as they come through the door. Starting a party with a game encourages guests to interact with one another and lessens the pressure of breaking the ice.

Invitations

With the recent surge in electronic invitations, it is flattering to receive customized invitations that are personalized. For example, each invitation can contain details about the party, but also lay out special instructions per guest. Request that each attendee prepare a three to five minute skit of their choosing or request that each person dress up according to individual themes. These promise to serve as funny and memorable moments during the party.

Fondant Cakes

These cakes, no matter the decoration, wow the crowd because they look so life-like and can shape easily. Buy fondant, or make your own with marshmallows, adding in sugar to taste and mix until dry and stretchy. Apply this to the cake after cream base has been applied. A Fondarific Fondant professional says it is easy to create decorations by shaping and working smaller pieces of fondant.

Go All Out

Going all out needn’t be overly expensive. Choose a few items of decoration that will wow guests. Instead of using standard lighting, take multiple strands of miniature lights, bunch them up and hang from the ceiling. The light given off from these strands will be sufficient, but creates a magical effect. Use black lights and encourage guests to wear nail polish, makeup and clothing that will glow in the dark.

Parties are meant for fun and the more surprising the parties, the better. Have fun.
