Tired of My Bath – Review & Giveaway

Quixeramobim Why is it that kids go through a phase where they hate taking a bath? For a long time, as little ones, they love it! Bubbles! Water! Splashing!

But, somewhere around kindergarten and elementary school, they begin to resist. What is this? Moms and dads everywhere are forcing their kids to wash their hair, scrub their knees, and clean those hands. And I know it’s not just my own kids. I have nieces and nephews who are equally as guilty!

Dicy McCullough, a local NC author and friend of mine, explores this phenomenon in her book, Tired of My Bath. John Allen, the young boy in the book, begs and pleads with his mother to let him skip his bath. He wishes and wishes that she would give him a reprieve just this one time. Well, mom does, but it’s not for the reason John Allen thinks.

Tired of My Bath

McCullough’s book has fun-to-read rhymes and engaging illustrations (by D.M. Contento). Elementary school children will love to read about John Allen and learn with him why it’s so important to take a bath!
