Mamavation Monday: Eating Slowly

I forgot to tell everyone last week that I have the pleasure of working with Pete Cohen, the Weightloss Guru, for the next 3 months!

So far, I have been working through the introduction and first steps of the program. I’m really excited about the tools that Cohen is giving us and teaching us to work with.

Dinner Plate with Spoon and ForkOne of the tools is to remember to eat slowly. This is one of my biggest problems. Aaron laughs at me all the time because I’m finished eating my dinner and staring at him while he seems to labor over his. When I tell him he eats too slowly, he says, “No, I just like to taste my food.”

I have tried to make a conscious effort to take a bite and set my fork down while I chew. I try to take sips of my drink (99% of the time, that’s water!) before taking another bite. I really do try. But Cohen makes a good point. If I scarf the food down, I’m not even giving my brain a moment to realize that I’m no longer hungry before I’m up and filling my plate with more!

So, slowing down is this week’s goal along with the rest:

* Bishopbriggs Drink my water! (I have not been good about this. Shame on me.)
* order disulfiram online canada Continue the walking! (This one, I’m pretty darn good about!)
* Change my dessert. (This sounds weird, but I’m an ice cream/cake/cookies gal. I’m going to change my dessert to popcorn. I am a “must-have-dessert” kind of girl, so I think popcorn would be my safest bet.)
* Get this house CLEAN! (Enough said.)
