Mamavation Monday: Making Progress

Last week, I talked about becoming a power lifter. Specifically, I was going to start building my will power.

I am happy to report that I’m doing pretty darn well!

It has only been a week, but I didn’t go through ONE drive-thru. I did hit up Subway, but I only got a sandwich (not the usual chips & three cookies addition). When we got home, I had water and and apple with it. Saved pennies in my wallet as well as calories and shame later.

Another part of flexing my will power was to keep myself to one super-sweet indulgence a day. I did pretty well with that, too. Ice cream is my favorite after-the-kids-go-to-bed treat, and I did allow myself that (or some variation) each night.

This week will be more difficult as the kids get more Halloween candy (we already have some from Saturday’s Trunk-or-Treat), and I try to figure out how to avoid it. I’m thinking Aaron’s students might have some treats on Thursday!

And, on another good note, we’re at week 14 with Spawn, and my morning sickness is basically gone. I think that’s one reason I’m suddenly able to do so well. I don’t feel sick, and I don’t feel like I must make up for not eating by finding whatever junk appeals in the slightest way. (So far, I can also report that I’ve only gained 1 pound with this pregnancy. This is a big deal since I started at least 10 pounds over-weight. I’m trying REALLY hard this time!)

What have you accomplished this past week? Tell me what has gone well for you!
