Mamavation Monday – What a week!

Mamavation Monday – What a week!

Phew. Flash isn’t even in our arms yet, but this week has been NUTS!

It’s another Monday which means another Mamavation Monday update. A lot has happened!

The week started with a regular doctor’s appointment where we learned that Mesquite Flash wasn’t engaged enough for her to “help” me in any way.

Then, on Wednesday, Miss Sassy Pants fell off the monkey bars at school and injured herself. Her father and I took her to the local Urgent Care where they did an X-ray and decided she just had a sprain. So, they put her in a splint.

That same day, from about 3 pm until 9 pm, I had regular contractions. They were at minimum 8 minutes apart. I called the after-hours nurse who suggested I go on in to be checked. So, we headed to Labor and Delivery. While there, I learned that I was 3-4 cm but that was about it. So, they had us pacing the halls. In the thirty minutes that we paced, contractions came very quickly — about 1 to 2.5 minutes apart. We thought this was for real. When the nurse checked me again, there was literally NO change whatsoever. Around midnight, we had a choice to make — wait it out at the hospital or go on home. We chose home — and I’m glad we did as I’m still sitting here with no new baby.

The next morning, Thursday, at Miss Sassy Pants’s honors assembly, I received the call that her sprain was actually a buckle fracture and she’d need a cast. She sort of freaked out and then was excited to learn that she’d have a cast that others could sign.

That night, Aaron and I headed to a celebration for teachers who received their National Board Certification this year (he was one of them — so proud of my Math Man!). We had laughed for months leading up to this about the idea that we might have a baby right after this celebration. Nope.

So on Friday, my sister drove us to the orthopedic specialists (because I wasn’t driving that far on my own in case labor started), and we got Miss Sassy Pants fitted with a bright pink cast.

Saturday morning, I received the first proofs of my new book, cheap provigil uk A Day to Remember, which will be printed and ready to distribute soon. Stay tuned for that one!

Like I said. Phew. Contractions come and go. I’m now 39 weeks pregnant (plus 1 day). I’m trying not to hurry things along and just let nature take its course. But if you’ve ever been pregnant, you know that’s way easier said than done. As the days go on, I’ll try to stay busy and keep remembering that the longer he “cooks,” the stronger he’ll be.

How was your week? What made it crazy or busy?
