Mamavation Monday: Happy New Year!

I’m a day late with my Mamavation Monday post, but I wanted to hold out until I could show off my newly designed website and wish everyone a Happy New Year!

Big thanks to Resa at Resa Michelle Media. I love what you’ve done with the place. 🙂

This past week, my family had a chance to visit the northeastern part of Tennessee. We stayed in Cosby and visited both Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. While it was hard on the Animal who is used to two nice naps a day, we still had a pretty awesome time. I’ll be blogging about the adventures as the week continues, so stay tuned!

My biggest success this week was eating pretty darn well considering it was the holidays, and I had so many desserts around me. Now, that doesn’t mean that I didn’t have some weak moments. But, through our entire trip, we never actually went through a drive thru, and I once again steered clear of the soda. That means I’m at FIVE months without a traditional soda (I did have an all-natural soda around Thanksgiving).

The new year suggests resolutions, and yes, I have some. Since I’m currently with child, I’m not worrying with losing weight as I might if I weren’t pregnant. Instead, I’ve set two healthy goals — one physical and one mental:

Physical – I’m going to work on toning what I have right now. Let me explain. I am working on a video to review a video game. Aaron videotaped me from behind. I’m not happy with what I saw for 7 minutes straight. In fact, I’m embarrassed. So, I’m going to work on making it look better before Flash arrives in late April/early May. I figure this will do three things. 1: It will be good to tone what I have. 2: It will give me a clear-cut goal that is attainable and active. 3: It will allow for (hopefully) an easier recovery and reclaiming of my body post-birth.

Mental – I’m going to get this house organized and then keep up with it. I mean it this time. I’m happy to have 4 more months worth of nesting to help push me. My fear is that with three kids to chase, I’m going to begin pulling out my hair if I must also worry with a house that looks like a tornado blew threw. I’m realistic and know that it’s still going to look like that – but I’d rather it be at the hands of my children and not all of us!

What are your goals this year? How are you ringing in the New Year?
